A native Chicagoan, Rachel relocated to Spokane to enjoy the nature and outdoor activities Washington state had to offer. Rachel has worked in early childhood for the last 10 years in a wide variety of settings. She completed her undergraduate degree at Colorado State University where she also completed hours in AmeriCorps volunteer in a classroom for the hearing impaired. After working for the Head Start program with the Cherry Creek School district in Aurora, Colorado for two years, Rachel relocated back to Chicago to be closer to her family. It was there that she began working as a preschool teacher at a private school in the city and first heard of a “Developmental Specialist” when one came into her classroom. It was then she began her master’s program at Erikson Institute in Chicago. After completing this program Rachel worked in early intervention as a specialist for a Chicago-based clinic where she also helped create a therapeutic preschool for children aging out of the Early Intervention program. Over the last 10 years, Rachel has learned many life lessons for the children and the families she has worked with and is excited to continue to support and grow amongst the families here in Spokane.
