Practicing Physical Therapist since 2006
Alicia grew up in a small town in eastern Oregon. It was in the fifth grade that she decided she was going to work in the health industry. Her youngest brother had undergone surgery at the Doernbecher Hospital in Portland, Oregon, and that lead to her interest in working for a nonprofit. Alicia stayed in her hometown and completed a bachelor’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in athletic training. She then went to Northern Arizona University for her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During volunteer hours to get into school, Alicia initially thought physical therapy was a little boring. Then she watched a documentary on a child with spina bifida who was working with a physical therapist to learn to ride a bike and thought, “That is what I want to do!” An internship at Shriners Hospitals for Children brought her to Spokane. Alicia is married to Jason and they have one son, Parker. They enjoy camping, hiking, skiing and vacationing.
