Kids for Kids Penny Drive

The Community Day Penny Drive is part of the Kids for Kids educational and fundraising program. In a typical year, a dozen Joya families volunteer their time to visit 75 area schools and share their children’s stories with more than 35,000 schoolchildren. The school presentations increase understanding and open the door to acceptance and friendship for children with special needs. Generous schoolchildren donate pennies, change, and even dollars to help Joya serve children. Community and school penny drives have raised a total of more than $3.3 million since 1996.

In 2020, we had to re-imagine the penny drive and went digital. This year, you can still give electronically, but we’ve also found some new ways to slowly and safely bring everyone back together for a more traditional Community Day!
