“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched…but are felt in the heart.” – Helen Keller
For more than 60 years, first as the Spokane Guilds’ School and now as Joya Child & Family Development, we have relied on the generous and caring hearts of so many in our community. People like you who may never meet the infants and toddlers we care for – but are touched by their unique journeys and inspired to make a difference.
Since moving into our new home last year, we have seen a 24% increase in our enrollment. Joya’s team served an all-time high of 509 children this past year. We are so grateful that more children who need critical early intervention services have access to Joya’s exceptional program. But that means we need to raise even more to cover the cost of uncompensated care.
Last fall, through the generosity of donors like you who gave to our annual Hearts of Joya appeal, we were able to raise $74,000 to support our uncompensated care fund, allowing families to focus on the early intervention therapy their child needs, not on what they can afford. We hope we can rely on you again to have a Heart for Joya and the incredible children we care for.
When you give, every penny stays right here in Spokane County to support children and families in your community.
For us, the journey into parenthood began with steadfast commitment to providing Kai with a beautiful, adventurous life. Our choice to have a child was very planned and intentional. We were confident in our parental abilities.
When Kai missed physical milestones, we were scared, perplexed and unsure what the next steps looked like. Learning your child needs support greater than you can offer is deeply emotional. With tremendous fortune, we were connected with Joya. The process was simplistic. We were encouraged to be honest about what we, as a family, needed.
Through the sincerity and generosity of Joya, we are offered unprecedented support and financial relief. Kai’s development is forever propelled because of their therapist and the entire Joya team. These folks dedicate their professional lives to the strength, confidence and continued growth of our community’s youth. They are incredible humans! Our family is beyond grateful.
